Experience
I've been an English prof for a long time and recently left college teaching to follow my husband's job. But I still love working with students. I really do want to help you succeed! Because I'm a prof, I can tell you exactly what your professors or teachers would like to see from you. I can tell you how they will grade you. I can tell you how to increase your chances that your teacher will read your essay favorably. Most of all, I will help you learn and understand what you are trying to do and how to write clearly. I have a good sense of humor, and I promise you, we will laugh and have fun while you learn. People describe me as a caring, patient, fun person. I also have experience with learning disabilities, as my son is on the autism spectrum. I taught him to write when no one said he would ever master writing. Well, he is no Ernest Hemingway (although he'd like to be!), but he does write now and enjoys it. He now reads a great deal and even writes poetry. It all began when he could finally understand writing and literature--what authors and writers are trying to do. I can help you with basic or advanced writing skills. I can also help you with literature classes -- American, British, world, whatever lit class you are taking.
